Meakin Jugs

The J&G Meakin Factory produced many different styles of jugs, teapots, cups etc. The Grace shape was produced in 1957, and was aimed at the Canadian market. This site shows the designs which were produced on items of that shape. I have not been able to find pictures of jugs in all instances, but each pattern was produced across the range in each case.

The plates and saucers in this set were patterned, but the cups were plain, as were the lids to the teapots and to the covered sugar bowls.

Left, the blue and yellow flowers of the Fascination design (1958), later brought out on the  Horizon shape, but seen here on the Grace shape.

Muted shades of Old Rose, lemon and grey make up the Dusky Maid design

This laburnum design is called Golden Chain, and was later put onto the Studio shape as wel.

The checked Habitat design, brought out in 1953 to go on the Studio shaped wares, but seen here on Grace cream jugs.

The hatched Crofter background with the Harvest Field (1960) pattern.

This design might be called Realm Rose.
